Rare Genuine Original (Not a reproduction) Circa 1964 Classic BEATLES collectible IBBB Club Membership Card I.B.B.B. club (International Beatles Booster Boobies). "WE DON'T LIKE THEM, WE LOVE THEM". Signed By Original owner. Classic BEATLES collectible of the infamous Detroit Michigan Area DJ Tom Clay at the time of A Hard Day's Night in 1964. Mr. Clay started the I.B.B.B. club (International Beatles Booster Boobies) and promised all kinds of goodies, sometimes delivering sometimes not. This is a card from the set he mailed out consisting of a 45RPM interview record, original insert with pictures, club membership card, paper sleeve, a torn ticket stub, and the original mailer. That set now retails for $750.00. From the Internet: TOM CLAY WAS A POPULAR DETROIT DJ WHO LOST HIS JOB IN THE PAYOLA SCANDAL FOR ACCEPTING $6,000 IN ILLEGAL PAY. HE RELOCATED TO CANADA, ALTHOUGH HE KEPT HIS DETROIT ROOTS. CLAY CAPITALIZED ON THE BEATLES POPULARITY BY SETTING UP A BEATLES BOOSTER CLUB WITH A MEMBERSHIP FEE OF $1.00, WHICH ENTITLES MEMBERS TO A CARD AND DECAL. LEGEND HAS IT THAT HE GROSSED $86,000 FROM THE CLUB'S 86,000 MEMBERS. IN APRIL 1964, FOLLOWING HIS FIRST BEATLE BOOSTER BALL, CLAY WENT TO LONDON, WHERE HE USED HIS DETROIT BACKGROUND TO GAIN AN INTERVIEW WITH THE BEATLES ON THE SET OF "A HARD DAY'S NIGHT". THIS CONTEST HAD TWO WINNERS WHO WENT ALONG ON THE TRIP WITH CLAY (HE LEFT HIS POSITION AT CKLW IN JUNE OF 1964 AND WAS NOT PRESENT FOR THEIR DETROIT CONCERT). UPON HIS RETURN, HE SOLD AN INTERVIEW DISC TITLED "REMEMBER, WE DON'T LIKE THEM WE LOVE THEM". THESE INTERVIEWS WERE MANUFACTURED INTO A PROMOTIONAL 45 RELEASE PACKAGE FOR MAIL-IN ORDERS ONLY. THE DISC CAME IN AN ELABORATE GATEFOLD SLEEVE WITH PICTURES OF CLAY, HIS FAMILY AND THE BEATLES.

Inspiration The inspiration to write the song was a 19th-century circus poster for Pablo Fanque's Circus Royal, Rochdale, that Lennon purchased in an antique shop on 31 January 1967, while filming the promotional videos for "Penny Lane" and "Strawberry Fields Forever" in Sevenoaks, Kent.[3] Lennon claimed years later to still have the poster in his home.[4] "Everything from the song is from that poster," he explained, "except the horse wasn't called Henry."[5] (The poster identifies the horse as "Zanthus.") The song is credited to Lennon–McCartney, but Lennon claimed to have written it entirely himself.[4] McCartney disagrees and in a 2013 Rolling Stone interview states: "I read, occasionally, people say, 'Oh, John wrote that one.' I say, 'Wait a minute, what was that afternoon I spent with him, then, looking at this poster?' He happened to have a poster in his living room at home. I was out at his house, and we just got this idea, because the poster said 'Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite' – and then we put in, you know, 'there will be a show tonight,' and then it was like, 'of course,'...The song just wrote itself. So, yeah, I was happy to kind of reclaim it as partially mine.'"[2] Mr. Kite is believed to be William Kite, who worked for Pablo Fanque from 1843 to 1845.
