Rare C1922 Italian tin clockwork toy Roman chariot Horse, and Driver. Titled “Invictus” by Brevete THIS IS A VERY RARE TOY IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. Winds up and works. Soldier Has Cape Which I have never seen before on this item. Fully signed with trademark on bottom. Tin horse with moving legs that are jointed at the knees mimics the motion of a real horse. Horse pulls a tin litho decorated chariot with a hand painted paper-maché gladiator. Detailing to its chariot is in teal, gold tone and red. Roman driver presented in blue and silver tone armor. There are 2 holes in the fabric cape. The chariot is attached to a brown horse with decorated fabric tack, fringe detailing, tail, and mane. The chariot is marked “Made in Italy” and the horse is marked “Brevete”, and “S.I.G.M.A Turin Italy Invictus” with July1922 patent date and "Brevete dans touse les pays" (patent in all Countries). Key is missing but can be wound with small slotted screwdriver. SA 5042 020820
