This is a Rare Antique c. 1912 -1917 Cast Iron Old Doc Yak Hood Ornament/Bank. This is one of two versions I found, this being the rarer with the half circle cut out on the side of the cap. Very rare and highly desirable. This hood ornament was designed by Sidney Smith who was the founder/ writer of the of this cartoon from 1912-1917 in the Chicago evening journal. He measures 4.75" tall x 4.75" long x 2-5/8" wide. These were converted into still banks.
