CHUCK CONNORS COWBOY Rifleman VINTAGE METAL TV LUNCHBOX w THERMOS 1960, METAL ALADDIN LUNCH BOX LUNCHBOX CHUCK CONNORS TV SHOW RARE. SA 15004 081019 Manufactured by Aladdin Industries Nashville Tennessee Great set! and VG condition with some age and use wear. The thermos has a tin outer shell and glass on the inside. Clean inside. The set is dated Copyright 1960 Four Star Sussex Productions. Some Scratches and dings see pictures. Great set for any collection! The lunchbox has a brown rim and handle, and features graphics on the front, reverse and sides. The front of the box shows Lucas McCain defending a bank from armed robbers with his rifle, whilst his son hides behind a barrel. The reverse of the box shows the pair riding in the desert, with Mark’s horse being startled by a mountain lion. The sides of the box feature images of McCain’s modified rapid-firing Winchester Model 1892 rifle. The box also came with a metal thermos, which has a red lid/cup and features an image of McCain and his son chasing off cattle rustlers on his ranch. The Rifleman was a popular U.S television series which aired on ABC from 1958 until 1963, comprising 5 seasons and 169 episodes. It starred Chuck Connors, the former professional baseball and basketball player-turned actor as Lucas McCain, an 1880s homesteader and American Civil war veteran. The show told the story of McCain raising his son Mark after the death of his wife, and fighting injustice in the fictional town of North Fork, New Mexico with his trusty Winchester rifle. A range of Rifleman merchandise for children was produced during the late 1950s – early 1960s, including toy guns and rifles, a vinyl leather-effect wallet and a lunchbox, made by Aladdin in 1960.
