Rare Circa 1901 GE Sprague Electric Company AC Pancake Fan in Working Condition 5 speeds
Circa 1901 Sprague AC Fan in mostly Unrestored Working Condition Very Rare 12" AC GE Sprague With GE Pancake Motor Fan. Cage is 14". This fan has Patent dates that date back to 1887 and end in 1901. This fan features all original paint as far as I can Tell. The Fan Is uncleaned and retains original Patina. Around the turn of the Century Sprague and GE entered a cooperative partnership in making fans. This is an early GE fan. Not sure why it has a Sprague button with other GE parts and Motor. The front button reads "Sprague Electric Company". The Label on the motor Reads “Alternating Current” Fan Motor. Type AR form B Volt S100/115 cycles 60 No.139557 Spec. Pat. May 17 '87, March 19,'89, June 4, '89, June 30, '89, May 27, '90, July 31, 1900, June 25, 1901 GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. USA. The Number 602405A is molded into The Motor Mount. The cord is a modern cloth replacement and the Plug is a antiqued modern plug. There may have been caps that went over exposed wire ends on the fan motor that are now missing if they ever existed. Original 5 speed switch still works perfectly. The Fan Manually Rotates on its base when a set screw is loosened. The Fan Has a tabbed base for mounting. When Plugged in the fan fired right up after a little oil was added.
