Vintage, Hubley, Grace Drayton designed and signed, Bobby Blake #46 cast iron doorstop . Grace Drayton was the creator of the Campbell Soup Kids. She created Bobby Blake (and his counterpart Dolly Drake) for the Philadelphia press in the year 1900. This doorstop was made by Hubley in the 1930's. On the lower back is the "C" in a circle and her signature. The last picture shows her signature and a page from The Doorstop Book : The Encyclopedia of Doorstop Collecting (John C. Smith) showing pictures of Bobby and Dolly and some information.
This is an original, cast iron, Grace Drayton/ Hubley doorstop. Don't be confused with reproductions. The Albany Foundry made one and has the number 25 and/or 26 stamped on the back. C.N.& Co made their reproductions from the Albany mold and it has CN stamped on one side of the back and the number 25. A lot more information is available on a popular doorstops com website--in face the picture they have on their site is identical to the one I have listed.
Measurements: 9 1/2" tall x 5 3/4" wide
Marks: C in a circle and the signature of Grace Drayton
Doorstop is in good vintage condition. Has small paint chips and wear consistent for age and use, but no obvious damage. Still has at least 90% of it's original paint (important for collectors) B&H12022017
