VINTAGE 1960'S BUDDY L TEXACO FIRE ENGINE TRUCK DEALER MODEL 5741 W/BOX
This toy is in Very Good Played with condition. There are a few scratches and dings, paint loss. There is fading and wear of the Chrome. One of the hoses is age cracked at the end. One of the two molded on plastic Extension Ladder clips is broken off the ladder. It comes with original box in Very Good condition with all flaps. 3 inside flap reinforcements. Plastic has no cracks or warp. Original accessories:Ladder Assembly; 2 hoses with Garden Hose Adaptor; Front bumper is fractured and glued together, then screwed on. Siren Handle; Bell. Some of the originally loose parts have been installed on Fire Engine. I believe the item is complete minus instructions. The item is not tested and sold as is. Dimensions: 8.5"h x 25.5"l x 8.25"w.
These were sold in 60's at Texaco Gas Station Stores as promotion / advertising - (Get them while they're young) - box says " from YOUR TEXACO DEALER " and " TRUST your car to the man who wears the star" Text from box describes features: actual scale model, made of heavy steel, real siren and bell, real water deluge gun, real extension ladder and hoses.
( For water gun, it notes that it operates on direct feed from outside garden hose - not designed for indoor use). (Note: features NOT tested, sold AS IS) On bottom of truck, shows bas relief (slightly 3-D) image of frame. On bottom also has word markers / part ID at appropriate area: Texaco Anti-Freeze, Made in U.S.A. by Buddy L Corp., East Moline, Ill., Havoline Motor Oil, Marfak Multi- Purpose, Texaco Multigear Lube, Fire Chief Gasoline.
