From Monroe Michigan News April 26, 2013: A slew of vintage military vehicles are the first obvious sign.
One also can tell from the dozens of belts of bullets, holsters and bandoliers. Mr. Yeck, a long-time Dundee area manufacturer and former mayor, died in August, leaving behind one of the most extensive collections of military memorabilia in the region.
It all will go up for auction beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with no minimum bids on any of the more than 1,000 vintage items.
Dozens of military vehicles, ranging from Army Jeeps to a 1941 half-track, that were part of Mr. Yeck’s Dundee Motor Pool Museum, will go on the block beginning at 1 p.m.
“This auction is unique,” said Kenny Lindsay, auctioneer with American Eagle Auction & Appraisal Co., which held a public preview of the items Wednesday night. This is, by far, one of the largest military collections in the United States, and maybe the world.”
